Pin-Up Finland 2016

This year I'm part of the Miss Pin-Up Finland competition :) it is already a win for me to be among the finalists. Most of the girls are so young and pretty, I feel like and auntie next to them. But you know, youth isn't everything. I myself found confidence and self esteem after I turned 30 and nowadays I enjoy being on stage performing and I love to be in front the camera. The competition is going to be next weekend in Lahti at the Jenkkiautonäyttely, which is a big American car show. I'm looking forward to next week!

Vacation!

Night with Tarantino

So last year, I did "A Night in Twin Peaks" and this year I was part of "A Night with Tarantino" at Gloria/Helsinki. I was a vampire stripper at the Titty Twister Bar from the movie "From Dusk Till Dawn" ;) Below are some pics of the fun evening. It was exciting to see the actors create famous Tarantino scenes. Later in the evening it was fun to dance with Kill Bill charatcers etc. on the dance floor. It felt quite surreal ;)

My favorit moment though was dancing to the song "After Dark" on stage to a live band :D first time ever that I performed purely improvising and first time ever that I performed with a live band. Both things were amazing! I love being on stage :)

Heading to London

The Savage Girls will perform at Chaz Royal's10th Annual London Burlesque Festival....and it's this friday!!!! We will be at the VIP Opening Gala!!! Right now my fellow showgirls are already travelling to London and I'm heading there tomorrow. OMG, I'm so excited and nervous! :D

We've of course practiced a lot and I've also studied some history by watching all 4 seasons of Tudors (I know it's not that accurrate) and I'm also reading "The history of England" by Peter Ackroyd. This is the first time ever that I travel to the UK :)

Burlesque Blossoms and Johnny Moth

I was very happy to perform at the Burlesque Blossoms this year and I was extremly happy to perform at the same event with my partner Johnny Moth. I'm always nervous when I perform, but this time I was more nervous for my spouse than for myself. I should not have had any worries. He really kicked it and pulled of an amazing show! The sad thing is...I didn't see it :( but I sure did experience it ;)
I was part of Johnnys act. The poor victim that got killed by the beast.

Let me tell you it is quite different to experience a burlesque act with your eyes closed, lying on the ground. I could hear the music, the gasping audience and the cameras shooting like papparazzis. I could feel Johnnys steps on the ground and feel the music beats on the floor.

Later at the evening it was time for me to perform my act "murder". I'll post pics of that later. Below are a few pics from Johnnys act.

Helsinki Burlesque Festival 2016

So the biggest burlesque event of the year in Finland is the Helsinki Burlesque Festival. It was 2012 when I went to see the festival for the first time. This year half of the performers were men, which is really nice, because well, burlesque is for everyone :)

Burlesque Blossoms 20.02.2016

I'm very excited about tomorrow :) my partner Johnny Moth is having his first burlesque solo and I'll also perform at the same event :) Many friends are coming to see the show and I'm looking forward to see all the new performers <3

London calling

I got amazing news last weekend! The Savage Girls (Kitty Litter, Vera De Vil and me) will perform at the London Burlesque Festival in May! And not just that, our peformance will be at the Opening Gala! How cool is that!!! I've never been to London before, so I am suuuper excited :)

There is a whole bunch of us finns going this year. The Itty Bitty Tease Cabaret will be there as the awesome boyband "Bitty Boyz", the beautiful vintage queen Dixie Feathers is there too and also the oh so talented Lady Laverna :)

I'm so looking forward to this!

Pirates Pleasures 4.2 Beauty

I'm so happy to perform tomorrow at Pirates Pleasures :) Excited! Whee! 

Tampere weekend - Teerenpeli Tease and Yanis Marshall

I had an exciting weekend last week in Tampere. On Friday I was at the Yanis Marshall workshop in Tampere. For 3 hours! I've always been eager going to workshops and now it was truly a "learn from the best" experience. I totally sucked :D I did the Street Jazz class and Heels class. Out of both choreographs I learned maybe 1/5. But that's ok :D I still learned a lot. New floor-work and several general issues about dancing and walking in high heels. And let me tell you, seeing Yanis dance was awesome! My friend Gigi Praline was also there so it was good to have a little support from a friend :)

The next day, I performed for the first time ever at Teerenpeli Tease. The theme was "Glittertribe", so I was there with my High Priestess act :) it was fun to perform at Teerenpeli. Olivia is a lovely producer and there were some friend performing too and I met some new nice people. I love hanging out with glittery people! Monday seemed especially grey after such a colorful weekend!

These two choreographies by the Shangri-La Showgirls are my two favorits :) The Ravishing Shangri-La Rubies  (Cherry "Turrrbo-Cherry" Dee and Tinker Bell ) are such great teachers! So if you want to learn burlesque and live in the Helsinki area, then Studio Shangrila is the pefect place :)
